So today I decided to make myself suffer :’)
The Reread, Rewrite, Burn Book Tag
Today I’ll be doing the Reread, Rewrite, Burn Book Tag (inspired by one of Merphy Napier’s recent videos) with some of my current favorite books (these are all 4-5 stars!). Some of these titles also correlate with the ones in Merphy’s video.
I’ll be doing four rounds, each with three books.
In order to select three at a time, I’ll be spinning this lovely wheel (which I created here):
Round One
What the wheel selected:
- Wuthering Heights
- Beartown
- Cinder
Oooh, okay. Here’s what I’m going to go for:
Reread Cinder. I haven’t touched this one in a very long time and perhaps it might be time to reread it.
Rewrite Wuthering Heights. While I do love this classic, there are a few slow parts that I would either cut or make more concise.
This, of course, means that I will have to burn Beartown. It’s not the ideal situation, but I suppose I will have to deal with it.

- Nevermoor: the Trials of Morrigan Crow
- Skyward
- The Lies of Locke Lamora
I am going to be up front about this and say that I absolutely despise having to make this decision. But, as I am suffering for your entertainment, I’m going to choose. Here are my decisions:
Reread The Lies of Locke Lamora. Even though it may have its flaws, I honestly wouldn’t be able to do it justice. It’s a great book as is and I wouldn’t change anything about the plot, setting, or characters.
Rewrite Nevermoor: the Trials of Morrigan Crow. This was Jessica Townsend’s debut novel, and I’d maaaybe cheat by handing it off to her and see what she’d do with it, since she’s now had more experience in writing.
And as much as I don’t want to, I’m burning Skyward. (Farewell Doomslug 🙁 )

Round Three
We’ve reached our penultimate round (I’m almost done)! Here’s what the wheel selected this round:
- 100 Days of Sunlight
- A Thousand Perfect Notes
- Six of Crows
Ohhh noooooo.
Noooooo.
OKAY, LET’S DO THIS.
Reread 100 Days of Sunlight. It’s such a fluffy book and it’s got a very uplifting message (and also it’s always nice to support indie authors).
Rewrite… um, rewrite A Thousand Perfect Notes. I think I’d give August a POV.
Aaaand Six of Crows goes up in flames. YOU CAN’T SAVE EVERYONE.

Final round! Since there are only three options left on the WHEEL OF SUFFERING, let me present you with the remaining books (AND THEN IT WILL ALL BE OVER):
- Aurora Rising
- Code Name Verity
- Rebecca
THIS IS SO SUBJECTIVE. WHY DID I CHOOSE TO DO THIS AGAIN?
Reread Code Name Verity. This is one of my favorite historical fiction books and I’ve already read it three times, so why not a fourth time?
Rewrite Aurora Rising. I’d like to give Zila more development.
And just like Manderley, Rebecca has to go up in flames. WHICH SUCKS OKAY BECAUSE THIS IS A FASCINATING BOOK AND I’VE READ IT TWICE.
I’m taking a hiatus?
I know I recently took a break from blogging, but seeing the amount of responsibilities I have and things I need to do, I need to take a longer step back from here.
I don’t know when I’ll return, but it’ll be most likely after November (or even longer, depending on my workload).
However, as usual, I’ll still be around to answer comments.
