This post should probably have gone up last week, but I forgot I was going to be away on vacation! Apologies for the sudden break!

Overall, 2021 was a pretty solid year for me. I got a lot of writing done and that generally tends to make me happy, haha (although I’m still learning that how much content I put out doesn’t correlate with my own worth as a person). I also got to focus on some other things I enjoy, such as making art and coding small things.

2021 Stats:

• I wrote over 150K words, excluding blog posts and schoolwork (because apparently I can’t stop won’t stop?? uh)
  • (But I took breaks, I promise!)
  • I also drafted my 2021 writing project, and while I’d like to say it’s under the revision process, it’s still resting as I write this post
• I met my goal of reading 120/120 books! I’m very glad Goodreads has decided to stop screaming at me for falling behind!!

Plans for 2022?

Reading

I think I might be taking it a little bit easy on my reading goal this year. 2021 was mildly stressful with reading, and it did feel like a chore or a box to check off at times. This year, I think I might just let myself read however many books I’m able to, and then possibly mark some number I’ve already passed as my Goodreads goal later.

Writing

As for writing, I’d like to write another book this year! For the past four years, I’ve managed to draft a book a year (2019 gets a bit of a side-eye because I didn’t finish the resolution beat) and I’d like to keep up that streak. I’m not sure what this year’s project is going to be yet, but I hope I’ll be able to write it 😊

Also, I think I’m going to continue posting every other week on this blog. It’s a lot more feasible for me at this point in time, and I’m trying not to burn myself out with it (especially since I seem to have committed to being on here for THREE MORE YEARS).

Plus, I know I said I’d try to be a bit more open about my writing projects in 2021, but I don’t think that happened and I don’t know if it is going to happen anytime soon. I do have plans, but I have no idea where they sit on my priority list at this point. It’s very possible that I’m just seeing how things go this year.
